Arconte - The A Thousand Thrones War IV A novel by Tolmarher Series: Continuus Nexus - Octava Saga Following the Naraka disaster, no victory remains clear and no defeat remains buried. The fourth book of The A Thousand Thrones War, entitled Arconte, opens up about three separate injuries by time but united by an same corruption of blood, desire and power. In the first chapter, The Communal Hall of the Aqueronte, the cursed ship flee from Naraka as a wounded beast, bearing in his insides Carmen- Abaddon, Rya and Theseo- Aqueronte. Carmen is no longer just a woman or a warrior but a guest and throne with an arcontical will with a bright, beautiful and dangerous Amber eye as a queen born of desecration. Rya remains at his side, trapped with desire, fear and complicity, while Theseus, molten with the sarcophagus of navigation, ceases to be a human sacrifice to become a living awareness of the ship. The first law of the Aqueronte was born in the communal hall, among broken survivors, traitors locked up after gates and chapels contaminated by emerging horrors: to obey, survive and accept that the fugitive ship no longer seeks refuge but form. It isn't a kingdom yet, but it starts to smell of a throne. In the second chapter, The Exorcist Admiral, the Neoempire gathers the remains of his failure. Dante, broken up by Naraka, awakes up at an inquisitory hospital ship sewn up by Mordus doctors and monitored by Ragnar while minor chronologists attempt to turn the disaster into a manageable report. But Dante understands before them that Carmen- Abaddon isn't a local anomaly but the beginning of a new war. The Arcontical possession, the living consciousness of the Aqueronte, the ambiguous fidelity of Rya and the survival of Theseus declare something more serious than an escape: they declare the possibility of a wandering power, a cult, a fleet or a kingdom born of Naraka. Marked by the resonance of Carmen's Amber eyes, Dante begins to become an instrument of persecution, not simply by obedience to Hegemon but by the fanatic conviction that Neoempire has failed and should be hardened so as to be devoured. That's where his future as an exorcist Admiral seizes itself: not a hero but a doctrinal knife forged into a fever, guilt and necessity. In the third chapter, The Stolen Seed, the narrative goes back to the year 11,623, decades before the open war, to reveal one of the secret roots of the coming disaster. At the town-shield of Agarthia, among ponds of imperial dragons, ash tunnels and the shade of the Black Guard, Salomé performs an act that will alter human history: infiltrate under false identity, isolate Nimrod 85 and steal the imperial seed that will give rise to a prohibited possibility. Salomé does not appear as a victim or as a mere seducer but as a conspirator, warrior and architect of a future enemy of the Neoempire. Facing an Emperor-Prophet protected by Exodites but not completely master of his own flesh, she turns desire, drugs, shame and calculation into a political weapon. When you flee from Agarthia with the future locked in a ring, you have not destroyed the empire: you have shown that a competitor can be beget with his own blood. These three chapters form the threshold of Arconte. One shows the dark birth of the Aqueronte as a wandering core of power and another, an inquisitive response from the Neopurity to a threat that it currently cannot name and the third reveals that the origin of the future fracture isn't only in Naraka but in a seed stolen decades earlier in the Ash World. Carmen- Abaddon, Dante and Salomé are thus established as three foundational forces of the novel: the possession that wants throne, the persecutor that wants purga and the conspirator mother who stole from the empire his monopoly of his destiny. Arconte begins, therefore, not with an declared war but with three impure births: a ship that awakes up, an inquisitor that tightens up and an imperial blood that escapes from the cage where the Hegemon thought his future was locked up.
