Synopsis

Richard Halloway, the top of one of the most powerful foundations in the world, appears dead in his Manhattan office. The police are talking about suicide. Adele Voss, a research journalist, finds something that doesn't fit: incomprehensible notes, erratic behavior and the feeling that too many people are in a hurry to forget the dead. His research takes him to Teo Marchetti, a former analyst of Aurelian Trust, who discovers an impossible pattern hidden for decades between foundations, governments, banks and large institutions. Opposite ideologies, faced countries and organizations with no apparent relationship always end up producing the same result: a more fragmented, more dependent and less capable of acting as one body.
